New Day Butterflies - Simon Says Stamp and Watercolor

Good morning! Stopping by today to share a card using the stamp set from the April Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month - I didn't use any of the other elements in the kit for this card, just the stamp set. Since the entire kit is sold out, it is fortunate that this awesome Beautiful Day stamp set is still available on it's own! I used three of the beautiful butterflies on my watercolor card today!

I stamped each butterfly with Simon Says Stamp Barely Beige Ink on Arches Watercolor paper using my MISTI, and watercolored them in with my Daniel Smith Watercolors. Once those dried, I pulled out my MISTI again (with the stamps still lined up in the same place), and did some partial outline stamping with my Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I basically inked the outer edges of the butterfly with the mini cube, and the centers, but left some of the details in the middle without ink for a softer look. Kind of a hybrid between no-line watercoloring and not.

Finished off with a sentiment from the same stamp set heat embossed on a bit of black cardstock with a bundle of gold thread underneath, and a few Nuvo Drops scattered around to finish it off before mounting with foam on a Neenah Desert Storm Cardbase!
