Simple Floral Sympathy

Good morning! Just sharing a super simple sympathy card this morning - actually inspired by a photo on Pinterest!

I saw this picture on Pinterest - and I loved the simplicity of the black flowers on the mint green background - I used more of a soft blue color, but the idea was the same!

My blue paper is actually from a Basic Grey paper pad, and I stamped the flowers and leaves from Altenew's Painted Flowers stamp set. Added a sentiment from My Craft Spot's With Deepest Sympathy, then added a couple of enamel dots. Finished off by matting in black cardstock, and rounding one corner.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

MCS Challenge - Chalk Art

Good morning! We are starting a new challenge this week at My Craft Spot - and the challenges will now be running for 2 weeks instead of 1 to give you more time to join in! The new challenge is Chalk Art - and I'm hoping no one minds me jumping from fall to Christmas with my project!

For this I cut a tag and an oval from Chalkboard paper, and stamped and heat embossed my sentiment from Christmas Friends and Neighbors Stamp set. I added some smudging with white pigment ink, then threaded through some coral ribbon, and tied on some Natural Jute Twine with some teeny tiny jingle bells (LOVE those!!!). Finished off by tying it to one of the gorgeous blue limited edition jars that Ball released last year - I have been hoarding them I'm afraid! :-)

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week!!!

Avery Elle AEI{Heart}U Challenge Team!

Good morning! I have been waiting for a little while to share the news - so excited to be joining the Avery Elle challenge design team!!! You can read the news HERE or HERE - and meet the rest of the team! I also thought I would share a card I made a little while ago and hadn't posted using some of my Avery Elle stamps:

I used the stamp set called Brushed to create my paint stroke background, using two shades of Hero Arts ink. Then I built my sentiment and stamped my images over the top with Red and Goldie. The border was created with a Pretty Pink Posh Borders 1 die, and I also added a few 4mm metallic gold sequins. Finished off with some pattern paper from My Mind's Eye, and a bit of Baker's twine with a button tied on.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Welcome Baby...

Good morning! Hard to believe the week is almost over...these past several weeks have been a waiting game for us! We found out nearly a month ago that the company my husband works for here in Wyoming sold this facility, and we will be moving. Today is the day we find out exactly WHERE we are going! Have to say, it will be nice to have the mystery laid to rest!

Anyway - thought I would drop by and share a baby card I made recently with my Paper Smooches stamps:

I am also joining in with the current Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - Anything Goes:

For this card, I used some soft pink MFT ink, smooshed it on my nonstick mat, and made a watercolor background by dipping my water brush in the ink. I stamped the sweet little elephants from A Little Lovin' on Copic cardstock, colored, and fussy cut them out. I die cut a tag using Tag Stitched Dies, added a bit of washi tape, and mounted the elphants on there with foam adhesive. Next, I die cut a speech bubble using Word Bubble Dies, and stamped my sentiment combining Bold Buzzwords and A Little Lovin', and added some ribbon attached with a staple to the top. Finished off by stamping a few of the hearts from Bold Buzzwords in the same pink ink, and some Hero Arts gray ink on the background, attaching the tag with foam adhesive, and adding a few sparkly silver enamel dots from Eyelet Outlet.

Big Huge Thanks!

Hello! Just popping in for fun to share a fun thank you card I made recently:

I'm linking this up with the current AEI{Heart}U Challenge - Clean and Simple:

I used the darling hippo from Hipster-Potamus, and heat embossed him on some gray paper from Authentique before fussy cutting him out. Ombre background paper is from an MME paper pad, and I cut a large speech bubble with a Paper Smooches die to stamp my sentiment on. Added some washi tape on the bottom, and some enamel dots to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Statement Sentiment - Happy Birthday

Good morning! I have a VERY quick card I put together the other day for a couple of challenges. This uses a fabulous large sentiment from Mama Elephant - such an amazing way to make a super quick and amazing card without too much time, work, or embellishing needed!

First challenge I made this for was the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

And I also wanted to join in to Virginia's View Challenge #7 - Pattern Paper:

Love how a simple sentiment and some lovely pattern paper can come together so quickly to make a card. My pattern paper is from Glitz Designs and Crate Paper. I added a panel of vellum over the top with my sentiment heat embossed in black, then machine stitched the layers together, leaving some loose threads. Finished off with some good tacky adhesive tape, and attached just the top of the panel to my white cardbase, leaving the rest to hang free.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Avocado Arts - FALL in Love

Good morning! I'm up on the Avocado Arts blog this morning to share a few cards with you using the new stamp set for September - a perfectly timed fall set!!!

I'm a sucker for great sentiments - and love how they can take center stage on a card and make a bold statement at the same time, so the first stamp in this set that caught my eye was that fun sentiment at the bottom - PERFECT for watercolors!

I used some red, orange, and yellow MFT dye inks, and smooshed them onto my nonstick mat, then misted with water, and dipped my brush in to create a watercolor background on my watercolor paper. I stamped my sentiment over the top with Versafine ink (which won't run on the slightly damp paper!) and then misted it with Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine - I love how much shine it adds, as well as the way the color ran on some of the edges. To finish off, I machine stitched the top of the watercolor paper to my white card base - and left the rest hanging free, then I added some doodles with a white gel pen.

Next up - isn't that wheelbarrow the CUTEST thing ever?!?!? And the sentiment is just as darling!

I stamped this on a tag I cut with a Paper Smooches tag die, colored it in with Copics, then added my sentiment with coordinating Hero Arts Shadow ink. Finished off with a strip of gold washi, then some lovely thick Linen May Arts Ribbon. I threaded it through the hole, then machine stitched it closed before adding an October Afternoon button with some jute twine in it. Pattern paper is by MME and Basic Grey. I also used a bit of distress ink on the edges of the tag, just to soften the whiteness a bit.

And lastly - I thought it would be fun to use this set to make a distinctly non fall card:

I had die cut the notebook piece with a PTI die, and it was sitting on my desk when I misted the ink for the first card - so it ended up with some ink splatters on it. Instead of throwing it away, I decided to make use of it for this card. I stamped my image and sentiment, colored with Copics, and added a bit of Stickles to the pie and whip cream. Layered on some torn vellum that I stitched on with some sequins, and a bit of washi tape. Finished off with some pattern paper from Crate Paper, a doily, a bit of jute twine, and a decorative corner punch on the top edges.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

You should have arrived here from Saundra - if not, feel free to head over to My Craft Spot and start at the beginning so you don't miss anything - there is a giveaway at each stop too!

I have been having so much fun lately making shaker cards, that I thought it would be fun to put one together today with the new release goodies:

Here are all the products from the new release that I used on my card (you can find the new release in its entirety HERE):

I used the stitched lines from the new Fancy Edges die set on my card base - LOVE the detail it adds! I used my Lil' Inker's Stitched Oval dies to make the center of my shaker portion, then stamped my sentiment fromt he new Fall Leaves stamp set directly on the acetate with Staz-on Ink. I cut the leaves from the Fall Borders die using PTI cardstock, and used that to fill my shaker card. Rounded the top corners, then finished off with a bit of Natural Jute Twine wrapped around and tied in a bow.

MCS Stamp Release Party Day 5

Good morning! Welcome to the 5th and final day of a week of sneak peeks for the new release at My Craft Spot!!! Today I played with the super fun new Wheelbarrow Die set, as well as the Fall Border metal die set, and Fall Leaves Stamp set:

I built my scene on a panel cut with Scrapping Life metal dies - cut each piece out - the swirls I cut out of felt for extra texture! I layered everything on with foam adhesive to assemble it. Pattern paper is from Basic Grey, and I used Fancy Edges Metal Dies 2 to cut that fun pinked border. Added some Natural Jute String wrapped and tied to finish it all off!

MCS Stamp Release Party Day 4

Good morning! Welcome to Day 4 of a week of sneak peeks for the new release at My Craft Spot!!! Today I made a sweet and simple card with the new Chalkboard Sentiments - Fall stamp set:

For this card, I first made an gradient color wash on watercolor paper - making it darker at the top, and fading it with a little extra water at the bottom. Once that dried, I stamped my sentiment over the top, then filled in the empty places on the letters with a white gel pen. I thought it added just the right amount of interest to a simple card! Finished off with a bit of Natural Jute String tied in a wispy bow.

Good morning! Excited to stop by this morning and announce the winner from the Winnie and Walter new release hop last weekend - but first, I have another card with one of the new sets to share:

I made this to link up with the current Curtain Call inspiration challenge:

I used the newly released A Tree For All Seasons stamp set for my card - used MFT ink to build the tree, and distressed the edge of my panel with my Tim Holtz distress tool and distress ink. Added some jute twine tied in a loose bow to finish it off before mounting with foam adhesive on a kraft card base.

And...thanks to Random.org, we have a winner!

MCS Stamp Release Party Day 3

Good morning! Welcome to Day 3 of a week of sneak peeks for the new release at My Craft Spot!!! Continuing on today with another wonderful fall stamp set, this time made to coordinate with the assorted banner metal dies. It is called Banner Sentiments - Fall:

For my card today I also used a couple of the metal die sets - the Fancy Edges Halloween and Fall Border sets I shared peeks with on Monday, and also the Wheelbarrow Die set. I painted swatches of color on watercolor paper, then cut each of my elements out to create my front panel. Added my sentiment from the new Banner Sentiments - Fall on the Straight Ribbon Banner Die which I attached with some criss-crossed staples, then added some sequins from the Metallic Sequin blend. I tucked a little strip of orange pattern paper and some gold washi tape on the side under my front panel to pull everything together.
