Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - Ocean

Hello! It's time for this weeks new Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge - here is what I made this week:

It is the first week of the month, so that means it is a Trend Watch Challenge:

And here is the inspiration piece:

There are so many fun ocean themed Paper Smooches stamps and dies, it was really hard to pick what to use! But...I hadn't used my new PS Sailboat die yet, so I decided to break that one out! The fish came from the same die set, and I added the bubbles from Briny Blue.

My pattern paper is all from Studio Calico. I used PS Borders 1 Dies to cut the waves - the paper had a wave pattern on it as well, so cutting the waves and layering them all together just added to the wave effect! I tucked the boat between a couple of the layers, added an enamel dot at the top, and stamped my sentiment from Birthday Buddies stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit! Looking forward to seeing your creations this week as well! Please stop by and see what the rest of the SPARKS team put together:

My Craft Spot Summer Release Hop and GIVEAWAY

Good morning! The day has finally arrived to share the entire new release from My Craft Spot! If you are just arriving from Kate, then you are in the right place. If you just happened along here and want to start at the beginning, head over to My Craft Spot to start at the beginning - there is a chance to win one of the new stamps or dies at each stop along the hop - so you don't want to miss anything!

For today, I decided to use my FAVORITE item of the new release - the 4" Doily Die, as well as some of the fun new sentiments to make a set of fun note cards (it was really hard to get a good picture of them all together - this was the best I could do!):

I layered each card with some matted squares cut with a Lil' Inker's stitched rectangle or square die, stamped some Paper smooches images on and colored them with Copics, then added the PERFECT sentiments from the new releases. This first one uses a sentiment from Down on the Farm:

I also used a touch of Stickles on each one for just a bit of sparkle. This sentiment is also from Down on the Farm:

My pattern paper are from a couple of different MME 6x6 paper pads. This card uses a sentiment from Tasty Treats Stamp Set:

I cut the doily with the 4" Doily Metal Die and layered it behind each front panel. I am seriously in LOVE with this die! I kind of have a thing for doilies already - and to be able to cut my own in any color I want is SOOOO much fun! It cuts PERFECTLY each and every time! I also used Down on the Farm for the sentiment on this card:

Time to hop on to the next stop and see what the fabulously talented Sherrie has prepared for you, but before you leave, make sure and leave a comment for a chance to win the new Pattern Blocks Stamp set (you can see what I made with it this week HERE) - all winners will be announced Monday:

Here is the entire blog hop line-up in case you get lost along the way:

And here are all the new releases - all available to order now from My Craft Spot:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!

MCS New Release Sneak Peek Day 5

Good morning! It is the 5th and final day of sneak peeks for the new release at My Craft Spot! I am especially in love with today's peeks - using I think my  new favorite die ever - 4" Doily Metal Die, as well as Tiny Tags 3 Stamp Set. I made a cute little gift bag:

I used another glassine bag that I got at Michaels - these were in the value section (you know, the one that used to be $1 for everything?) - and they were quite a bit bigger. I decorated a panel to adhere to the front using the awesome new doily die, and a cut from my Silhouette Cameo.

I added some gold spray with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist in gold, then attached my silhouette cut over the top with foam adhesive.

Added a bow out of Natural Jute Twine and Black Traditional Baker's Twine from My Craft Spot, and added the tag cut with Tiny Tags Metal Dies and sentiment from Tiny Tags 3.

That's it for me today! Make sure and check out My Craft Spot to see what the rest of the Design Team has created to share with you! Can't wait to see you again tomorrow to share the full reveal and our new release blog hop! Make sure and stop by for a chance at a fun giveaway as well! See you then!

Edited to Add: I am also linking this up with the Moxie Fab World Birthday Creations Week: Tags and Wraps Challenge

MCS New Release Sneak Peek Day 4

Good morning! Only one more day left of sneak peeks before the full reveal and blog hop for My Craft Spot's Summer Release on Saturday! Today's set is called Stampin' Around Summer and it coordinates with the Tiny Metal Doily Dies. I made a fun card and gift card holder in one:

On my last trip to visit family back home I had the opportunity to visit and do some shopping at our old Michael's store - something I very much miss here in Wyoming! Anyway, I came across these lovely little beauties {swoon} and had to buy them in all 4 colors! Mini Glassine bags - so fun!

My first thought was to use them as a gift card holder. Turned out they were a little taller and wider than I though (oops!) - so I trimmed the top off at an angle, then stitched it to my card with a little Caribbean crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot, and attached it to my card.

I was also lucky enough to have a used up Starbucks card in my stash for my sample photos!

And here is the card with the gift card fully removed:

I used the Tiny Metal Doily Dies, and the new stamp set to make the fun center on the gift card holder, also added some Natural Jute Twine and self adhesive pearls.

There is one thing I used on this card that we aren't officially sharing sneak peeks of until tomorrow...any guesses? Can't wait to see you again tomorrow with the final day of sneak peeks! Until then, make sure and head over to My Craft Spot and see the rest of the samples for today - as well as enter today's giveaway! See you tomorrow!

Paper Smooches Guest Designer - Week 4

(((If you're looking for my Day 3 My Craft Spot Sneak Peek Post, click HERE or scroll down to the last post!)))

Good morning! It is so hard for me to believe that June is almost over...which means this is my last post as guest designer over at Paper Smooches! It would be sad, but I had so much fun that I refuse to be sad! I made 3 cards for today, one with each of the new release sets I got for June. The first one used my very favorite set, Crystal Clear:

I stamped the jar, then added the flowers in 3 different colors of MFT ink, stamping twice for each time I inked them to give the appearance of 6 different colors of ink! My sentiment is from the set called Spiritual Sampler. Inked the edges with distress ink, wrapped some jute twine and tied in a bow, matted on some MME paper, and and mounted on an Avery Elle kraft card base.

The second card used the set called Briny Blue - another set I have definitely fallen in love with:

For this card, I had a random idea one night when I was going to bed and had to try it out! I took watercolor paper, masked out a square with washi tape, then waterbrushed over it with Mister Huey's mists in a couple different colors, blending them together. I peeled off the washi tape, let it dry, then stamped the whale, sentiment, and the splashes. Finished off by punching a couple of holes to thread some jute twine through, tying on a button as well.

Finally, I made this card using the super fun Off the Charts and coordinating Chart Toppers sets:

I was looking at the circle stamp, when all of a sudden it occurred to me that it would be fun to stamp it with overlapping primary colors! I'm so happy with how well it worked! I used 3 different MFT inks to stamp the color circles. Then I stamped the arrow, figure, and sentiment over the top. I used Paper Smooches Ovals 1 Dies to cut the oval shape, sprayed some white Mister Huey's inks on the brown cardstock, added some strips of coordinating MFT cardstock, then mounted the front panel with foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - and for all your kind words this month! I had so much fun playing with my Paper Smooches stamps! And...I can't wait to see the new release for July!!!

Have a great day and rest of your week!

MCS New Release Sneak Peek Day 3

Good morning! Halfway through the new release party week at My Craft Spot already! Today we are sharing samples using the new stamp set called Down On The Farm - here is what I made:

I used my Silhouette Cameo and a file from the online Silhouette store to cut both my shaped card and the milk can. I didn't like how the milk can layered together, so I trimmed up the parts of the top layer I wanted to use and pieced it together how I wanted. I then stamped the sentiment right on the milk can.

Used some foam adhesive between the layers, and used some Sheer White Ribbon with some Baker's Twine from My Craft Spot under the milk can.

My patterned solid papers are from Echo Park, and the solid cardstock is from Avery Elle. I debossed the green framed piece with my PTI Linen Impression Plate for a little texture.

Thanks for stopping by again! Make sure and head over to My Craft Spot to check out the rest of the projects by the Design Team and enter today's giveaway!

MCS New Release Sneak Peek Day 2

Good morning! Super excited today to be sharing more sneak peeks of the new release at My Craft Spot. Today we are spotlighting 3 items: Pattern Blocks Stamp set, Tiny Banners and Toppers Metal Die, and Small Alphabet Metal Dies. Here is what I made using the new items:

I started off by making my background using two of the pattern blocks from the new stamp set and some pink and blue MFT ink.

Next, I cut the banners and letter, and assembled them together. I punched tiny holes in the top of them to allow me to thread them all together with some natural jute twine from My Craft Spot.

Attached the banner with foam adhesive on each piece to hold it in place, then wrapped the twine around the back and glued on my little bows.

Finished off by matting in Avery Elle Cardstock and then on a kraft cardbase.

Make sure and swing over to My Craft Spot and check out what the rest of the Design Team did with these new sets! SOOO many fun ideas - you are going to LOVE these!!! There is also a giveaway for each day this week that you won't want to miss!
