Kiss Blizzard - Unity FWF

YAY for Friday and Unity Friends with Flair!!! Since I just HAD to have this snowflake stamp set - I decided to play with it as soon as possible! I'm SOOO in love with it! Here is what I made:
I used some of the new Webster's Pages Christmas papers (that I also had to have, and haven't used till now!)
I stamped the snowflake right onto a doily, then added a bit of bling.
Stamped and matted the sentiment, then attached with some washi tape - something that I am slowly finding myself ADDICTED to!
Added some twine from My Mind's Eye that I got a while back, as well as a bit of jute twine.
Finished off with a October Afternoon button that coordinated just right!
Thanks for visiting today! Hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend - since tomorrow is December 1st already! YIKES!!!

I Love Roo!

If you're are interested in entering my 7 Christmas Giveaways - click HERE to find the links to all of them!

Hello! I really wanted to pull out my Paper Smooches stamps today and play along with this weeks Paper Smooches Picture Perfect Challenge! Here is what I came up with:
And here is the photo inspiration:

I immediately noticed the chevron curtain in the background, and remembered some new washi tape that I was dying to use! So...I started there! Then I paper pieced the cute little kangaroo using some Cosmo Cricket pattern paper I had in my stash.
Next, I added a bit of washi tape under the kangaroo to pull out the middle pillow color, then used a My Creative Time Die to cut the frame, and heat embossed in white the sentiment. I wasn't going to, but it seemed like it needed the black matte to ground it a little, so I went with it.
Added some more washi tape under the sentiment as banners, and then finished off with a bit of black bling I had in my stash.
I hope you're having a great day! I will be back tomorrow sharing a card I created for Unity Friends with Flair, and on Monday I'm SOOO excited to start sharing some of the sneak peeks for the December Peachy Keen release! It is AMAZING!!! Can't wait to share! So...unless I pop in today with something else (always a possibility!) - I will see you tomorrow!

Christmas Giveaway #1

Hello! Since it is Christmastime, I have been wanting for a while to do a few giveaways! I have had a stash building up for a while, and also noticed a few weeks ago that I suddenly made the jump over 550 followers. So...sorry it took me so long! My plan is to do 6 giveaways in a row, followed by a big mystery one - that will just be a box filled with random fun stuff from my stash! I pretty much need to do some cleaning out - so this seemed like a good way to do it! All you need to do is leave a comment on each post that you would like to be entered to win, and I will draw all the names and post them all at once! Here is the first one - Christmas themed!

To win leave me a comment telling me something about Christmas - favorite tradition, favorite song, favorite food...you get the idea!
I will leave all the giveaways open for one week (so through Tuesday evening - December 4th) - then draw and post all the winners on Wednesday morning! Good luck!

Snowman Thanks - My Craft Spot Challenge

Good morning! It's Monday - and we are starting a new challenge over at My Craft Spot! This week the theme is Showing Gratitude - thank you cards! Here is what I came up with:
I used my Silhouette Cameo and a file from the Silhouette online store to cut my frame and cute snowman, then added a Peachy Keen face to him! Used Copic markers to highlight a bit, and to outline the frame.
Next, I stamped "thanks" 3 times using PTI ink from this stamp set from My Craft Spot:

Next, I used Tiny Doily Metal Dies...

And added a sentiment from this My Craft Spot set:

I don't know how well it shows in the picture, but I added diamond glaze to the scarf and hat as well. This picture might show it a little better:
Finished off with a bit of jute twine - also available at My Craft Spot HERE!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll come on over and join in the fun! Have a wonderful week!

Washi Christmas

Okay...one more washi tape card for the November Paper Crafts Gallery Challenge using decorative tape! This is one I put together earlier last week!
I used some October Afternoon Holiday Style paper, and then layered several strips of some new October Afternoon Washi Tape that I won recently across the bottom.
Stamped a cute silhouette from Hero Arts, and added a trail of black self adhesive gems behind them.
Finished off with just a bit of jute twine tied in a bow.
Yep...it has been slow coming, but I am definitely starting to get addicted to washi tape!!!

Simple Card with Washi Tape

This is a card I put together on a whim last night! Totally not my usual style...clean and simple isn't something that I usually sit down to attempt! But, I had just gotten these cute little Studio Calico wooden potty people, and had to play with them! I also wanted to submit one more entry to this months Paper Crafts Gallery Challenge using decorative tape.
I used some red chevron washi tape that I got from Paper Issues recently, as well as some yellow polka dot washi tape from My Mind's Eye that I had in my stash.
I cut the yellow into smaller strips, and then just randomly attached it to the card.
Added the cute little potty people, and a sentiment from the Unity December KOTM.
Finished off with some black self adhesive gems randomly attached.
That's a whole lotta random for one card, huh? Anyway - a fun change for me to try out clean and simple! Good to stretch yourself once in a while, right?

Gather around the Campfire

Hello! I'm home from church with a sick little one today - fortunately she is at the end of this bug that has been making the rounds of the family! So far I'm the only one who hasn't caught it...I'm hoping we can keep it that way!

Anyway - wanted to share a card I made a couple weeks ago and never had a chance to share! I enjoyed playing with some Market Street Stamps, and here is what I came up with:
I used the the adorable Houndstooth background to make my own background paper. I started by stamping it with clear versamark ink, then heat embossing with clear powder. Then, I inked over the whole thing with Tim Holtz distress ink. Pretty cool, huh?
Next, I stamped the little campfire from the Gone Campin' set, and colored with Copic markers. Stamped the sentiment under there two, added a bit of pattern paper from My Mind's Eye, then wrapped some jute twine around before attaching it all to a kraft paper card base.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

It's official - Christmas season is here!!!

Good morning! Since Thanksgiving is officially over, it is time to break into Christmas time all the way! We took some time to put up a bunch of our Christmas decorations last night - pretty much everything except the tree. We have a history of forgetting to water our tree, and having it dry out and start making a mess...so we decided we better wait a week or so - so we don't have a dead tree before Christmas!

Anyway - here is a little Christmas card I made with the November Peachy Keen release:

I started by stamping the pine branch bough around the edges of the rounded off square. I added the holly in the center and colored it with Copic markers, then stamped the sentiment.
Next, I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool, then added some Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Photo. I hand trimmed a BUNCH of banners from a DCWV Christmas paper pad - LOVE the chevrons! Inked them with distress ink as well, then attached them randomly to the back of the decorated panel. Wrapped some red jute twine around, and added a stick on pearl.
Finished off by attaching the square panel with foam adhesive - leaving the banners hanging free - then added some faux stitching around the edges with a white gel pen.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Have a great day!!!

You're so deer to me - Unity FWF

With all the excitement about Thanksgiving - I almost forgot that this is Friday! I know you're probably thinking there is no way I could miss that it is BLACK Friday - but I think I only once went out shopping on Black Friday, and said I'd never do it again! Helps now to be in a super small town, where there isn't enough shopping for there to be any point anyway!

So...a little while ago I realized that since it was Friday - I should have something for Unity Friends with Flair! So I sat down for a bit to play and came up with this:
I was also inspired by the colors in this picture from this week's Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab World:

It also didn't hurt that I received my order from the Unity Brown Thursday sale in the mail today, or that I had this Lucille 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey that I was dying to cut into! Oh - I just LOVE the colors in that paper - and they went perfect with this little deer stamp from Unity!
I started off by cutting the doily and circle with a Spellbinder's Die and some of the pattern paper from the paper pad.
I colored the little deer with Copics, then fussy cut it out to mount on the circle. The sentiment was stamped with two coordinating colors of Paptertrey ink on a hand trimmed banner - then I folded in the corners to give it a 3-D look. I mounted the deer with foam adhesive, and placed its feet around the popped up sentiment banner.
The background was embossed with my Cuttlebug, and I rounded off the corners. I also wrapped some jute twine around that layer and tied a big loose bow before attaching the doily piece with foam adhesive.
This is such a lumpy bumpy card - but I LOVE it!

So...if you braved the shopping malls and such - I hope you stayed safe and got what you were looking for! I on the other hand...had lots of fun making this instead! Thanks for stopping by - and have a wonderful weekend!
